Stone House is a 340m² family home set within a walled garden in the Cotswolds. The client — a returning family — wanted a house that honoured the region’s vernacular traditions while embracing contemporary living. We worked with a local quarry to source honey-coloured limestone, laid in courses that echo the dry stone walls of the surrounding fields. The plan is simple: a long, south-facing bar of living spaces that opens onto a sequence of garden rooms. Bedrooms occupy a quieter wing to the north, tucked beneath a sedum roof that merges with the hillside. Interiors are calm and luminous, with lime plaster walls, wide oak boards, and bespoke joinery throughout.
