Hillside Villa is a 380m² holiday residence carved into the terraced slopes above the Val d’Orcia in Tuscany. The house is organised as three stone volumes — living, sleeping, and guest — linked by covered outdoor terraces that step down the hillside. Traditional techniques were employed wherever possible: the walls are load-bearing terracotta block, rendered in local lime; the floors are hand-made cotto tiles; the oak shutters were crafted by a carpenter from the neighbouring village. An infinity pool extends from the lowest terrace, its edge aligned precisely with the horizon line of the distant hills. The house feels ancient and modern at once — timeless, rooted, and deeply Mediterranean.
